Forsyth Barr Stadium at University Plaza will be New Zealand's largest indoor arena and the second largest in the southern hemisphere.

Due for completion in August 2011, Forsyth Barr Stadium will be a world-class facility that can host a range of sporting, music, entertainment and cultural events. Forsyth Barr Stadium will be the world’s first to have a transparent ETFE roof over a natural playing surface - ensuring events can be held whatever the weather. The venue will have capacity for more than 30,000 fans for sporting events and more than 38,000 fans for concerts. The venue can also host meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

Forsyth Barr Stadium is located on an impressive site overlooking the city’s harbour, two kilometres from Dunedin’s CBD and at the gateway to the city’s famous University of Otago precinct.
